Internet protection??

removed norton because subscription was up.have now downloaded avast antivirus,pc tools firewall plus and super anti spyware.have i done the right thing?is it too much?what protection do i really need that is free?

Your set-up is already very good but I would add SpywareBlaster.

My personal favorite combo is AVG, a virus protection program and Lavasoft Ad-Aware, a spyware protection program. Both are free and updates for them are frequently released (at least 3 a week). Both can be downloaded from download.com and are free for life.
You need one firewall, one anti virus, and all these anti spyware programs;
