I have been a SNET DSL subscriber for years- now that it is part of AT%26T yahoo it seems that there is a CD full of software you need to install. Something NEW I assume, but is it all necessary. Do you NEED To download all the software from YAHOO for protection and such if you arleady have antivirus/protection software??
Also- do you HAVE to install those little filters on ALL of your phones when you get them, or just the main phone in the house....

If you already have an account, you shouldn't need to install there software. If you've got a router, it should be able to handle the connection to the DSL Modem.
If you don't have an account, then you may need to install there software to create an account.
The DSL Filters should, but not have to be installed on all active phones, it will reduce noise that some people will hear though.

ISP software is bloatware! I never install that crap. It just slows down your computer. Yahoo is simply a web-site availible to any one with an internet connection. Just type in
